Independent Study Confirms Superior Lifecycle Cost Advantage of Vector Reluctance Motors in Marine Propulsion

A recently published white paper by the The 715th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) has validated the economic and operational benefits of vector reluctance motor technology for auxiliary and primary propulsion in marine vessels. The study found that the simplified, durable architecture of these motors, coupled with zero risk of saltwater-induced demagnetization, leads to a significantly lower total cost of ownership compared to conventional permanent magnet solutions. Reduced maintenance intervals, longer service life, and insensitivity to critical material price volatility were cited as key contributing factors.HEJUN's Neptune Series drives were featured as a case study, demonstrating real-world performance in offshore service vessels.
